The Role

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion and empathy.


We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for boys and girls aged 7 - 18,. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 400 Full Boarders,passionately involved in a wide range of after-school and weekend activities and trips.


Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states ”pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that if they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with”.

We are looking for a full-time KS2 Class Teacher to join our thriving and successful Junior School. This post is suitable for Early Career Teachers and for those with more experience. 

 

The Junior School has been very successful over the years promoting an ethos of high expectations as well as excellent behaviour for the children. Teachers and staff in the school and boarding House provide the opportunities for all children to achieve their potential.  

 

The Junior School currently has 154 pupils, including 23 boarders and 131 flexi-boarders. As part of a state-maintained boarding school with Key Stage Two provision, it plays a vital role in ensuring continuity of education for children whose parents serve abroad, as well as those who benefit from a boarding environment.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an excellent record of KS2 classroom practice. 
  • Has the ability to raise standards and improve the academic progress of all pupils.  
  • Enjoys the challenge of delivering the highest levels of success for all pupils. 
  • Has enthusiasm, commitment and excellent ICT skills. 
  • Has strong academic qualifications and subject knowledge. 
  • Is a team player who always promotes high expectations. 
  • Is a role model to pupils and other staff in the school.
